Bush quietly seeks to make war powers permanent, by declaring indefinite state of war – http://tinyurl.com/6kh62b

Pass it on.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Three protesters disrupted a prayer by a Hindu chaplain on Thursday at the opening of a U.S. Senate hearing, calling it an abomination and shouting slogans about Jesus Christ.

If they insist upon opening the Senate with an invocation, then staying true to the establishment clause would, of course, guide one towards having leaders from every religion take turns doing so.

Somehow, I don’t think the Moonrite Temple has an invitation in the mail even though they’re local to DC.

The push to create an official Church of the United States with the President as its high priest continues unabated.

Sigh.

I’ve always liked Keith Olbermann. While I’ve never been a big fan of professional organized sports, and of sports reporting, his appearances on ESPN were something to look forwards to.

I’d frankly forgotten about his show on MSNBC. No more. It now goes into the DVR recording queue.

The clip above (thank you http://www.mediamatters.org) is breathtaking. It reminds me of when Jon Stewart appeared on Crossfire and took them down a peg or two.

It is nice to know, as the war against reason progresses towards whatever end, that folks like him are standing up to be counted.

Well I haven’t finished my little trilogy of articles. Truth be to tell, the first one depressed me a little. But I’ll get back to it in a day or so.
